What qualities do I look for in a good B2B copywriter?
Obviously,
good writing technique (style, grammar and usage) are important.
I call these the tangibles, because you can easily evaluate these
items by reviewing samples. However, a key intangible is good
listening skill and is equally as important as good writing skill.
I take an active interest in learning about your marcom objectives before
I write a single word.
How can you understand my high tech or industrial business?
The most important
part of any project is listening and understanding your marcom objectives.
I've worked in a variety of industries and have an aptitude for
understanding value chains, business processes and technical
concepts. Together, we'll identify your company's unique attributes
and determine the best way to utilize my copywriting and integrated marcom expertise to help you
obtain your marketing objectives.
What training and qualifications
do you have?
I have a business management degree with a concentration
in communications. My 15 years' experience ranges from laboratory
and industrial to high tech computers and software in project,
marketing and product management, sales and customer service
capacities. I'm experienced and comfortable working with a variety
of levels within an organization -- executives, scientists and
engineers and product/marketing management. In addition, I have
training and extensive experience working on local and global
teams as a leader, facilitator and individual contributor. Whatever
your structure, I can easily adapt.
How much does it cost to hire you?
Fees are based
on a per project basis starting at around $500. Let's discuss
what you're looking for and I'll provide a prompt price quote
for your specific project. To download a general price guideline,

Could I write my marketing communications more cost effectively
in house?
That's a tough question. Business-to-business (B2B) technical
marketing communications not only require technical aptitude, but marketing
savvy and business acumen as well. It's a combination that's
not easy to find. The question becomes, are you willing to sacrifice
in-house resource throughput? Outsourcing lets you obtain the
technical writing, marketing and business experience "on-demand."
How long does it take to receive the copy?
Ideally,
I like to have about two to three weeks... it gives me time to
carefully review each word and make certain I'm happy with the
copy before submitting it to you. Let's discuss your deadline
and determine the best time frame for you.
How is the copy submitted?
I can work with the
most common file formats including Word, PowerPoint, text and
html sent via e-mail. If you prefer, a hardcopy, I can submit
your project via mail or fax.
What if I want to revise some of the copy?
That's
fast and easy to do -- and there's no charge for revisions, provided
they are assigned within 30 days of your receipt of the copy
are are not based on a change in the assignment after the copy
has been submitted. I want you to be 100% satisfied.
How do I order?
When you're ready, simply e-mail,
phone or fax your order along with any background information,
brochures, sample letters, website URL. Tell me who you want
to reach and with what product/service and I'll do the rest.
If there are any questions, I'm a phone, fax or click away.
